Role of Micronutrient Deficiencies in ADHD

It is quite common for people with adhd to be deficient in many nutrients including zinc, vitamin d, iron, magnesium, B vitamins and omega 3s. Many of these and other nutrients are necessary cofactors for neurotransmitters like serotonin, dopamine and norephinephrine, which play a vital role in concentration and focus. Any kind of impairment of these neurotransmitters may lead to ADHD and other mood conditions. This would explain why it is critical to correct any micronutrient deficiencies that can contribute to the inability of our brain to function properly.
